Carbonation Test
Determining carbonation depth by spraying phenolphthalein solution on a freshly broken concrete surface. Zones turning pink to purple are alkaline; zones that stay colourless are carbonated. Once carbonation reaches the reinforcement, the risk of corrosion increases.
