Pull-Off Adhesion Test
A test measuring the bond strength of a coating or waterproofing to its substrate. A dolly bonded to the surface is pulled off with a tester, and the failure load and the layer in which failure occurs are recorded; the acceptance value is given in the data sheet and specification. For a quick site check, a small cut is made and the material is peeled: if failure occurs within the material itself, adhesion is adequate.
